The Mount House

Dr Robert Darwin built The Mount at Frankwell in about 1800. He, his wife, Susannah, and their six children lived there. This picture dates back to c. 1860.

The Mount House: For Sale!

After the deaths of both Susan and Catherine Darwin in 1866, The Mount House was put up for auction in Autumn 1866 however it appears it was sold later on as the property was advertised again in 1867.
